Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina’s action thriller Jigra is all set to stream on Netflix from December 6, the streamer announced on Thursday.
“Phoolon aur taaron ne kaha hai, ulti ginti shuru karlo ✨ Jigra is arriving tomorrow on Netflix,” Netflix wrote on Instagram alongside a poster featuring Alia Bhatt.
Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra is the third project under Alia’s home banner Eternal Sunshine Productions after Netflix’s 2022 dark comedy Darlings and Amazon Prime Video’s 2024 crime-drama series Poacher. The film marks Alia’s first collaboration with Bala, who is known for thrillers like Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota (2018) and Monica, O My Darling (2022).
The story follows a young woman, Satya, played by Alia Bhatt, who embarks on a dangerous mission. Her goal is to rescue her younger brother, Ankur, played by Vedang Raina, who is imprisoned in a foreign jail.
Released on October 11, Jigra couldn’t perform well at the box office. It earned Rs 56.90 Crore worldwide and Rs 31.95 Crore in India.
Co-produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Shaheen Bhatt and Somen Mishra, the film also stars Manoj Pahwa, Aditya Nanda and Vivek Gomber.
