Actor Ali Fazal has credited his Khufiya director Vishal Bhardwaj with “showing him light” as the filmmaker’s words helped him on the set of a new film he is currently shooting for.

Sharing a picture with Vishal, the 37-year-old actor wrote, “To Sir with love! @vishalrbhardwaj . I have seldom felt moved by direction on a film set. And I will forever be grateful to this man for showing me light. We’ve barely explored cinema together, I only hope my paths keeping crossing ever so more with your vision.”

Saying that the director’s words helped him while filming for a new movie, Ali also mentioned, “Just thought of something you had said to me on set before a scene one day. And it came in handy today while am on another set filming.”

Khufiya, which hit Netflix in October 2023, follows RAW agent Krishna Mehra (Tabu), who is tasked with tracking down a mole within her agency. As she investigates, her personal life becomes entangled with the suspected mole. Ali played the role of the suspected mole Ravi Mohan who is selling the secrets of India’s defense.

Also starring Wamiqa Gabbi, Azmeri Haque Badhon and Ashish Vidyarthi, Khufiya is produced by Vishal Bhardwaj, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Apoorva Mehta and Deepak Mukut.

With an IMDb score of 6.1, Khufiya was received with mixed responses from critics and viewers. Many viewers praised Tabu’s performance and the film’s cinematography, but some found the plot to be predictable or lacking in surprises.

Ali was last seen in the third season of Mirzapur. His next project includes voicing the character of Song Chi-yul in the Hindi-dubbed version of the anime series Solo Levelling.
