Akshay Kumar’s Selfiee trumped Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon-starrer Shehzada at the box office in terms of collection on its first weekend, raising Rs 10.24 crore nett in India in the last three days, according to box office records.
Rohit Dhawan-directed Shehzada collected Rs 2.1 crore nett on its second weekend, taking its total domestic collection to Rs 29.4 crore nett in 10 days. The film’s collection on its second weekend was lower than Pathaan’s fifth-weekend collection of Rs 2.5 crore, highlighted box office figures.
Directed by Raj Mehta, Selfiee —also starring Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha— was the lowest box-office opener (Rs 2.5 crore nett) in Akshay Kumar’s career in the last one decade and had an underwhelming performance over the weekend. The film raised Rs 3.8 crore nett on Saturday, followed by Rs 3.89 crore nett on Sunday, according to Box Office India.
Meanwhile, Pathaan’s total earnings in the domestic market rose to Rs 525.6 crore nett on Sunday. The worldwide gross collection of the Sidharth Anand-directed film, also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, now stands at Rs 1020 crore. This includes USD 46.74 million in the overseas territories alone.
