Akshay Kumar-starrer Ram Setu raised Rs 15.25 crore on its opening day, becoming the second-highest opener for a Hindi film and the highest grosser on Day 1 for an Akshay-led film in 2022, the makers of the film said in a statement on Wednesday.
The Abhishek Sharma-directed movie, also starring Satyadev, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nassar and Nushrratt Bharuccha, released in theatres on October 25.
The story of Ram Setu follows the journey of an atheist archaeologist-turned-believer, Dr Aryan Kulshrestha (Akshay Kumar), who must race against time to prove the existence of Ram Setu.
As pointed out by Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Ram Setu is doing exceptionally well with the evening and night shows being sold out at most places.
Ram Setu is presented by Prime Video in association with Cape of Good Films and Lyca Productions and is an Abundantia Entertainment Production. The film is produced by Aruna Bhatia, Vikram Malhotra, Subaskaran, Mahaveer Jain and Aashish Singh along with Prime Video. Ram Setu is distributed worldwide in theatres by Zee Studios.
