Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff-starrer action thriller Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has earned almost twice as much as Ajay Devgn’s sports drama Maidaan since the two films hit theatres on Eid, as per trade figures from industry data-tracking platform Sacnilk.
While Ali Abbas Zafar’s actioner minted Rs 40.75 crore nett in four days, Amit Sharma’s sports drama raked in Rs 22.22 crore nett, according to Sacnilk.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan — featuring Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chillar and Alaya F in key roles — began its theatrical run with an opening day collection of Rs 15.65 crore nett. However, the film’s collections dropped significantly on the second day to Rs 7.6 crore nett. It failed to earn in double-digits over the weekend, minting Rs 8.5 crore nett on Saturday and Rs 9.05 crore nett on Sunday.
Meanwhile Maidaan’s box-office graph followed an upward trend over the weekend, with the sports drama earning its highest daily collection so far on Sunday. The Ajay Devgn-starrer began its box-office journey on Thursday, with a collection of Rs 7.25 crore nett. The earnings took a hit on Friday (Rs 2.80 crore nett) but it recovered on Saturday, amassing Rs 5.65 crore nett.
On Sunday, Maidaan minted Rs 6.52 crore nett, taking its total collection so far to Rs 22.22 crore nett.
