Akshay Kumar recreated Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet’s iconic arms-stretched-out pose from Titanic on a Royal Enfield motorcycle with Sarfira director Sudha Kongara as his pillion rider, shows a behind-the-scenes video the actor shared to wish the latter on her birthday on Friday.
“Happy Birthday, @sudha_kongara! I hope your day is filled with as much laughter as we had during this #Sarfira ride while shooting :) Wishing you a year as great as your directing skills. PS: for those who enjoy trolling, this was just for the video during our shoot. Do wear a helmet when out on the road,” wrote Akshay alongside the video on Instagram.
Set to Celine Dion’s 1997 Oscar-winning song My Heart Will Go On from Titanic, the video captures Akshay riding the bike with the National Award-winning filmmaker on an empty road.
A Hindi remake of Suriya’s 2020 Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, Sarfira stars Akshay Kumar as former Indian Air Force captain Vir Mhatre, who goes to great lengths to start a low-cost airline for ordinary people.
Touted as “an incredible story of chasing your dreams”, Sarfira also features Paresh Rawal and Radhika Madan in key roles.
The film is produced by Suriya, Cape of Good Films, 2D Entertainment and Abundantia Entertainment.
Created by the makers of Airlift, Baby, Jai Bhim, OMG 2 and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Sarfira is slated to arrive in cinemas on July 12, two months after the release of Akshay’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which also stars Tiger Shroff.
