Actor Akshay Kumar congratulated wife Twinkle Khanna on completion of her Master’s in Fiction Writing from the University of London, calling her a “super woman”, in a heartfelt note on Tuesday.
“Two years ago when you told me you wanted to take up studies all over again, I wondered if you meant it,” the 56-year-old actor wrote in an Instagram post.
Akshay also said that the day he saw Twinkle work hard and “perfectly manage a full-fledged student life” with career, home, kids and him, he was convinced that he had married a “super woman”.
“Today at your graduation, I also wish I had studied a bit more to know enough words to tell you how proud you make me, Tina. Congratulations and all my love,” Akshay concluded his note with a couple photo in which the Sooryavanshi actor is sporting a black coat with a brown sweater underneath and Twinkle is wearing her graduation cap alongside a green sari over her black gown.
Sharing the same picture on Instagram, Twinkle referred to Akshay’s 2006 comedy film Phir Hera Pheri. “In an homage to Master Raju, I can finally call myself Master Twinkle,” she wrote.
Twinkle also shared a video from her graduation ceremony, sharing the moment of her receiving the graduation certificate. “And it’s here. Graduation day. My first day at Goldsmiths feels like it was both yesterday and years ago. A sunny day, a pretty sari, and having my family with me make this day even more perfect than I ever imagined,” she wrote.
Known as a best-selling author, Twinkle has written books like Mrs Funnybones (2015), The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad (2016), Pyjamas are Forgiving (2018) and her latest novel Welcome to Paradise.
Akshay and Twinkle, who have been married for 23 years, have a son and a daughter together.
