Actors Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi have started shooting for the third instalment of Jolly LLB, they announced alongside a short behind-the-scenes video from the shoot on Thursday.
While Arshad played the protagonist in the first instalment of the film series in 2013, Akshay starred as the titular lawyer in the second part of the film, which hit theatres four years later in 2017.
The video dropped on Thursday shows Akshay and Arshad debating over who is the real Jolly LLB. The video also features Saurabh Shukla with a black slate that carries the message, “Jolly LLB 3 shoot begins”.
"Now who's the original and who's the duplicate, that's a mystery. But one thing's for sure, it's going to be an enjoyable journey!! Stay tuned. Jai Mahakaal #JollyLLB3," Akshay captioned his post on Instagram.
The Jolly LLB film franchise satirizes the intricacies of the Indian judicial system while weaving in elements of humour and poignant social commentary.
Directed by Subhash Kapoor, the first and second instalments of Jolly LLB portrayed the journey of two underdog lawyers striving for recognition and fairness within the legal arena. Both films performed well at the box office, gaining recognition as sleeper hits.
