Ajogyo: Official poster of Prosenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta’s 50th film out

Kaushik Ganguly helms this relationship drama produced by Surinder Films

Prosenjit and Rituparna Sengupta are coming together for their 50th film together in Kaushik Ganguly’s Ajogyo, slated to hit theatres on June 7.

The official poster of the upcoming relationship drama, unveiled by Surinder Films on Sunday, features a bearded Prosenjit in a grey shirt and black coat being gazed at by Riruparna, who wears a black-and-grey sari. The logo of the film features the Bengali letter ‘A’ imprinted on a thumbprint.

Sharing the poster on X, Ganguly commented on the 50th onscreen pairing of Prosenjit and Rituparna in a small note. “My job is to tell stories… Prosenjit Rituparna 50 not out First song drops soon. Will keep you informed ,” he wrote on the microblogging site.

Apart from Ganguly, Prosenjit and Rituparna have also shared the poster of the film. “Presenting the official poster of #Ajogyo… My 50th film with @RituparnaSpeaks. A film by @KGunedited, releasing on 7th June,” wrote the Praktan actor.

Prosenjit and Rituparna were first paired opposite each other in Bhijoy Bhaskar’s 1994 film Nag Panchami. Since then, they have gifted the audience with multiple hit movies including Sasurbari Zindabad, Baba Keno Chakor, Shudhu Ekbar Bolo, Modhur Milan, Ashray, Matir Manush, Guru Shishya and Mayer Adhikar.

However, the duo stopped sharing the screen space in 2002 after Swapan Saha’s Streer Maryada. After 14 years, the jodi reunited on screen for Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s Praktan (2016).

Prosenjit and Rituparna have acted together in Kaushik Ganguly’s 2018 film Drishtikone. Prosenjit was last seen in Srijit Mukherji’s Dawshom Awbotaar, while Rituparna’s latest screen appearance was in Nirmal Chakraborty’s Datta (2023).
