Ajay Devgn, Jyotika and R. Madhavan-starrer Shaitaan remained the first choice of audiences last week, dominating the new releases like Madgaon Express and Swatantrya Veer Savarkar.
According to Sacnilk, Shaitaan minted Rs 20.05 crore nett in its third week in theatres, while Madgaon Express raked in Rs 13.5 crore nett and Swatantrya Veer Savarkar could earn Rs 11.35 crore nett during the same period.
Helmed by Vikas Bahl, Shaitaan began its box-office journey on March 8, registering an opening-day collection of Rs 14.75 crore nett. The supernatural thriller minted Rs 79.75 crore nett in Week 1, followed by Rs 34.35 crore nett in the second week. With the third week’s earnings, the 21-day total collection of the Ajay Devgn-starrer in India now stands at Rs 134.25 crore nett.
Kunal Kemmu’s directorial debut Madgaon Express had an opening-day collection of Rs 1.5 crore. The collection increased to Rs 5.5 crore nett over the weekend. The holiday due to Holi on Monday added another Rs 2.6 crore nett to the earnings. On rest of the weekdays, Kunal Kemmu’s directorial debut went on to earn Rs 3.85 crore nett.
Randeep Hooda’s Swatantrya Veer Savarkar opened to a collection of Rs 1.05 crore nett, followed by Rs 4.95 crore nett over the weekend. It minted Rs 2.15 crore on Monday, followed by a collection of Rs 3.2 crore nett during the weekdays.
Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra-starrer Yodha, which released in theatres on March 15, has raked in Rs 32.79 crore nett in two weeks.
