Ajay Devgn and Tabu-starrer Bholaa passed the crucial Monday test and remained steady on Tuesday, sailing past the Rs 50-crore milestone at the domestic box office, according to Box Office India.
The Ajay-directed action thriller earned Rs 5.25 crore on Tuesday, taking the film’s total domestic collection to Rs 54.03 crore nett.
The worldwide gross of Bholaa now stands at Rs 67.19 crore.
Bholaa, which released in theatres on March 30, earned Rs 11.2 crore nett, which was far below the expectations. The earnings saw a significant drop on Friday as it collected a meagre Rs 7.4 crore nett. However, tides turned over the weekend, as the movie raked in Rs 12.1 crore nett on Saturday, followed by Rs 13.75 crore on Sunday.
With no big Bollywood releases slated to hit the theatres this week — Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan will release on April 21 — trade analysts feel that Bholaa’s performance at the box office could improve further. With Friday being a holiday, the action thriller is expected to witness more footfalls in the cinemas.
