Ajay Devgn's Shaitaan has stormed into the Rs 100-crore club worldwide in a week since its release, according to a report by data tracking website Sacnilk.
The Vikas Bahl-helmed supernatural thriller, also starring R. Madhavan and Jyotika, has amassed Rs 80 crore gross in India alone, with an additional Rs 20 crore from overseas markets.
Shaitaan is the third Hindi film in 2024 to join the Rs 100-crore club, following in the footsteps of Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, is the other film to achieve this milestone.
The journey to the Rs 100-crore milestone for the film began with a strong opening day collection of Rs 14.75 nett in India on March 8, followed by a substantial increase to Rs 18.75 crore nett on Saturday. Sunday witnessed a further surge, with earnings reaching Rs 20 crore nett.
The momentum continued during the weekdays, with Monday's collections at Rs 7.25 crore nett and Tuesday's at Rs 6.5 crore nett. Shaitaan continued its impressive run on its sixth day, Wednesday, adding approximately Rs 6.25 crore nett to its domestic collection. This brings the film's total earnings to Rs 74 crore nett in India so far.
Shaitaan is a remake of Krishnadev Yagnik-helmed 2023 Gujarati horror film Vash.
