Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on Sunday drew flak from fans for “poor style choices” at the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival after she shared videos of herself in Falguni Shane Peacock gowns from the red carpet of the prestigious event.
The actress, accompanied by her daughter Aaradhya, is seen in a black-and-white corseted gown with gold accents and a dramatic train in one of the video clips. The look, however, failed to impress her fans who urged her to hire a new styling team.
“You are so beautiful, but please choose good designers,” reads a comment from a fan.
In yet another look, the 50-year-old actress is seen in an embellished column gown featuring massive fringes and a floor-sweeping train. Immediately after Aishwarya posted photos of herself in that outfit on Instagram, fans flooded the comment section to criticise her style choices.
“Ash we love you but PLZ for the love of god get a new stylist or styling team - they really don’t love you,” commented one social media user, while another wrote, “Your Stylist is destroying your fans. Change them immediately.”
Aishwarya has been a regular at the Cannes Film Festival since 2002. She is the only Bollywood actress who has been the face of India at the prestigious French festival for such a long time. The actress was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: I (2022) and Ponniyin Selvan: II (2023), where her portrayal of scheming Chola queen Nandini has received accolades from moviegoers.
