Pratik Gandhi’s Vithal, a firefighter, teams up with his brother-in-law Samit, a cop played by Divyenndu, to protect Mumbai residents from escalating fire incidents across the city in the teaser of Agni, dropped by Prime Video on Thursday.
Touted as ‘India’s first film on fire-fighters’, the one-minute-19-second-long teaser kicks off with a black screen and the voice of a man informing firemen about a fire in a building. The scene then shifts to firefighters hurrying to their trucks and reaching the location engulfed in flames.
“We are worshippers of Agni. Sacrifice does not worry us. We risk our lives to put out all fires. You may forget us but remember: ‘Those who live among flames…become immortal’,” the voiceover says as scenes of firemen — played by Pratik, Saiyami Kher and Jitendra Joshi — appear on the screen.
“In a city engulfed by a mysterious surge in fires, Vithal, a courageous fireman, and his brother in law, Samit, a hotshot policeman, begrudgingly join forces to unravel the escalating crisis. As they battle their own differences and a race against time, they must reconcile personal conflicts to crack the case and protect Mumbai from impending disaster,” reads the official synopsis of the film.
Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Prime Video wrote, “jwala mein jo jeete hain, wo amar ho jaate hain.”
Directed by Raees helmer Rahul Dholakia, the upcoming film is produced by Excel Entertainment and presented by Amazon MGM Studios. Agni is slated to hit Prime Video on December 6.
