After pop icon Taylor Swift, singer-songwriter Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas have announced their support for Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris in a social media post, urging fans to register to vote on National Voter Registration Day observed on Tuesday.

"Today is National Voter Registration Day, and we are asking you to please join us in going to iwillvote.com to check your status and vote early like we do," Finneas said in an Instagram video on Tuesday.

"We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet, and our democracy," added Eilish, extending her support to Harris and her running mate Tim Walz, who is also the governor of the US state of Minnesota.

"We can't let extremists control our lives, our freedom, and our future. The only way to stop them and the dangerous Project 2025 agenda is to vote and elect Kamala Harris," Eilish’s brother stated.

"Vote like your life depends on it because it does," the Birds of a Feather singer signed off.

Last week, Swift had endorsed US Vice President Harris minutes after the Harris-Donald Trump presidential debate, leading to an uptick in voter registration.

In her post, the Fortnite singer had explained why she chose to endorse Harris. “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader, and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades,” she wrote.

Both Swift and Eilish had backed Joe Biden and Harris during the 2020 US elections. The 2024 US elections are scheduled to be held in November.
