Love brews between Sara Ali Khan’s young freedom fighter Usha Rani and her friend, played by Abhay Verma, in the music video of Ae Watan Mere Watan’s foot-tapping number Julia, dropped by the makers on Saturday.

The two-minute-18-second-long music video, which also gives a glimpse of Emraan Hashmi’s Nehru cap-clad avatar and Sparsh Shrivastav’s determined patriot, begins with Sara and Abhay tiptoeing around a couple’s house and trying to peek inside. After getting caught, the couple invite the two of them inside to join them for a ballroom dance. Despite feeling awkward, Sara and Abhay get close to each other and lock their eyes.

Ae Watan Mere Watan revolves around a young freedom fighter Usha Rani (Sara), who launches an underground radio station to mobilise the youth and unite the nation against colonial rule in the 1940s.

Scenes showing Sara and Abhay’s growing love for each other are interspersed by the former setting up her radio station in the silence of the night. The video also show Sara, Abhay and Sparsh conversing with one another on the streets and corridors, and inspiring other freedom fighters.

The music video offers glimpses of Emraan Hashmi, who plays the role of freedom fighter Ram Manohar Lohia, interacting with Sara’s white sari-clad Usha, hinting at her receiving help from the former in her fight against the colonial rule.

Sung by Divya Kumar and Shashi, Julia is penned by Prashant Ingole. Shashi Suman has served as the music director for the song. While Tapas Roy has played the predominant tunes of the mandolin and strokes in the song, Harsh Bhavsar has worked with the saxophone.

“Is it just us or do you feel your feet tapping too? #Julia song out now,” Prime Video wrote alongside the video shared on Instagram.

Produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, Ae Watan Mere Watan is directed by Daud and Ek thi Daayan helmer Kannan Iyer. Also featuring American actors Richard Bhakti Klein and Alexx O'Nell, the film is slated to premiere on Prime Video on March 21.
