Aditya Roy Kapur- and Mrunal Thakur-led Gumraah tanked at the box office on its opening day with a collection of Rs 1.5 crore nett, according to Box Office India reports. The crime thriller directed by Vardhan Ketkar is a remake of Magizh Thirumeni’s 2019 Tamil film Thadam.

As per Box Office India, Gumraah failed to pull the audiences to the theatres owing to the lack of pre-release buzz around the movie. The film will “struggle to cross Rs 6 crore nett weekend and Rs 11-12 crore nett lifetime,” they predict.

Aditya has run into a rough patch with his big-screen outings — with last year’s Rashtra Kavach Om also failing to wow film-goers — though he recently struck gold on OTT with the title role in the Disney+Hotstar thriller series The Night Manager.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn-starrer Bholaa, which has entered its second week at the cinemas, received a boost on Friday with collections worth Rs 3.6 crore nett. The total domestic earnings of the action thriller, also directed by Ajay, now stands at Rs 62.68 crore nett.

Nani-starrer Dasara, on the other hand, raked in Rs 2.25 crore nett on Friday, taking its total collection to Rs 71.35 crore nett in India. Also starring Keerthy Suresh and Dheekshith Shetty, the revenge drama released in theatres on March 30.
