Prabhas and Kriti Sanon-starrer Adipurush (in all languages) witnessed a 75 per cent drop in its collection on Monday, managing to rake in only Rs 20 crore following a bumper opening weekend — with a collection of Rs 340 crore — at the domestic box office, according to Box Office India.
Starring Prabhas as Raghava, Kriti Sanon as Janaki and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, the Hindi version of Adipurush managed to earn only Rs 9 crore nett on Monday. The overall four-day Hindi total for the Om Raut directorial is estimated to be around Rs 113 crore nett.
Adipurush had an opening of Rs 93 crore nett across various languages in India, with the Hindi collection being around Rs 37 crore nett.
In its report, Box Office India suggested that the movie might struggle to surpass the 2022 blockbuster Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, starring Kartik Aaryan, which had earned over Rs 185 crore nett and was also backed by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series.
Analysts feel that Adipurush suffered greatly due to negative word-of-mouth. Since its release on Friday, the film became a subject of ridicule on social media due to its subpar visual effects, poor character design and shoddy writing.
