Ajay Devgn has asked his admirers and those of his Sooryavanshi co-star Akshay Kumar to not be at loggerheads with each other as both of them share a warm equation off-screen.

Speaking at the trailer launch of the March 24 release, Ajay said the actors’ equation should also reflect in their fandom.

“Akshay and I are here together so we both want to tell our fan clubs that please don’t fight among yourselves. We see that our fans fight with each other. So we want to say that we both have always supported each other and we have made this film with a lot of love. You all also please go and watch this film with each other,” Ajay — who has an extended cameo in the film — said.

Akshay also said he shares a special bond with Ajay and revealed how he was initially supposed to make his debut in Phool Aur Kaante, which marked Ajay’s entry in films in 1991.

“Ajay and I had started our career together. We both had fought for our debut film, Phool Aur Kaante. Initially, I was there but then he pushed me and got in,” he quipped. “Today we have reached this stage where we have done so many films together.”

Sooryavanshi — Akshay and Rohit Shetty’s first project together — is the third movie in the filmmaker’s cop universe after Ajay’s Singham and Ranveer Singh’s Simmba. Ajay said when the first Singham released (in 2011), no one imagined the cop universe would become so huge.

“I don’t think I initially thought it would turn into this huge franchise. I was amazed by the women’s response for the first film. After release, we felt the franchise could grow,” the actor said.

Katrina Kaif, who also stars in Sooryavanshi, said working with Rohit and Akshay was an incredible experience.

“I absolutely love the part I am playing in the film. More than anything, what I look out for when I see a film is if it works for me. If it has moved me, if the story has touched me and if what I am doing is crucial to the film. And when you see the film, you will see everyone’s role is crucial to the film,” the actress, Akshay’s frequent co-star, said.

Akshay said Kat surprised him in the film with her work. “Katrina has done such a stunning scene in the film, I was taken aback. I’ve become a big fan of Katrina Kaif and her acting talent,” Akshay said at the trailer launch on Monday.

Ajay then asked Akshay if he wasn’t already a fan of Katrina’s acting, to which Akshay said: “I wasn’t before. After this scene I’ve turned one. Earlier, I was a fan of her husn (beauty).

“She has done a brilliant job, hats off to her. A girl who didn’t know a word of Hindi came to this industry and today is working with the biggest of stars. Please clap for her,” he added.
