Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran is unrecognisable as a skinny migrant worker wandering the deserts of Saudi Arabia in the trailer of Aadujeevitham, dropped by his production house Prithviraj Productions on Friday.

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Blessy, the survival drama is based on a novel of the same name written by Benyamin. It also stars Amala Paul and Haitian actor Jimmy Jean-Louis.

The three-minute-six-second-long trailer, with almost no dialogues, follows Prithviraj’s Najeeb, a migrant worker from Kerala who goes to Saudi Arabia in search of work but gets stranded in the desert along with his coworkers. The visuals of a visibly-distressed Najeeb wandering in the desert, coupled with the haunting score by Academy Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman, add to the tension in the trailer.

AADUJEEVITHAM Yes, it was unintentional. No, it wasn’t meant to be “leaked” online. But I guess by now most of you know that the AADUJEEVITHAM trailer, cut exclusively for the festival circuits is online. So here it is, The AADUJEEVITHAM, The GOAT LIFE (unfinished, work in progress) trailer meant exclusively for various festivals around the world. Hope you like what you see. 🙏❤️” Prithviraj wrote on Twitter alongside the link to the video.

Originally curated for international festival circuits, clips from the trailer had earlier leaked online, forcing the makers to officially release it. The release date of the film has not been announced yet.
