The series Bou Churi, which captured the hearts of viewers since its launch, is set to wrap up after an impressive run of more than 150 episodes on the television screen. The romantic comedy is a part of the Sahityer Shera Somoy series.
“Bou Churi has been a remarkable journey for us on Aakash Aath. The story, adapted from the work of Prabhat Kumar Gupta, has resonated deeply with our audience. The unique blend of humour, romance, and a compelling storyline has made this show a favourite among our viewers. We are grateful for the overwhelming response and support we have received throughout its airing,” said Priyanka Bardia, director, Aakash Aath.
The three main characters of Bou Churi are Mandakini, Anath and Indubala. The story revolves around a young bride who finds herself entangled in a web of deception and intrigue. Finally, true love wins over every impediment.
“The story of Bou Churi actually reflects the era when our society and the individuals residing in it were yet to undergo the biggest evolution of modernism and development. Reviving a picture of that particular period on the television screen is a daunting challenge for the director as well as the actors who are an integral part of it. The characters of Indubala and Anath are two contrasting shades of personalities who have different desires from life and the future. It is definitely a privilege for both of us to play an onscreen role influenced by the rich treasure trove of Bengali literature. The show gave us a chance to explore various shades of human emotions through the characters of Anath and Indubala. The journey of playing these roles has been nothing short of a privilege. As we conclude the story, we can’t express enough how much we appreciate the love and support from the audience,” said Riaz Laskar and Tanishka Tiwari.
Directed by Bijoy Jana, Bou Churi also features actors Ayanna Chatterjee, Rajarshi Mukherjee, Bonhi Chakraborty, Deepanjali Mukherjee, Keshav Mukherjee, Sangita Ghosh, Ayush Majumdar, and Parboni Burman. Bou Churi airs on Aakash Aath, Monday through Saturday, at 7.30pm.
