The series Golam Mamun heralds Ziaul Faruq Apurba’s return to Hoichoi, following his acclaimed portrayal in Buker Moddhye Agun. The introduction of Golam Mamun’s character in Buker Moddhye Agun elicited an overwhelmingly positive response from viewers, propelling it to the zenith of popularity in Bangladesh. Such was the popularity of this character that it was deemed worthy of further exploration. It led to a new franchise centred around Golam Mamun in a fresh narrative landscape, skillfully helmed by Bangladeshi director Shihab Shaheen.

Golam Mamun follows a renowned police officer racing against time to clear his name in a series of brutal murders. Mamun, the prime suspect in a double murder, faces off with a serial killer and the system to which he has dedicated his life, while the clock keeps ticking on his quest to prove his innocence. In search of an elusive address at midnight, Mamun is ambushed by mysterious assailants in an apartment. Overpowered and drugged, he wakes up in a park, haunted by the unresolved murder of his brother-in-law, a case that continues to tarnish his reputation.

Ziaul Faruq Apurba, renowned for his immersive portrayal of characters, plays the titular character. A stellar ensemble cast features Sabila Nur as Rahi in the series, Imtiaz Barshon, Fakhrul Bashar Masum, Sharlin Farzana, Sharif Siraj, Nazmus Sakib, Nafiz, Rashed Mamun, Sushoma Sarker, and Deepak Kumar Goswami. Ziaul Faruq Apurba and Sabila Nur make their debut collaboration in this series.

Golam Mamun is very different from what I am normally seen in,” said Apurba. “I’ve been developing the concept for Golam Mamun for quite some time now, and I’m very passionate about this project. I simply want to shed light on the different treatments faced by men and women in similar situations,” said director Shihab Shaheen. Golam Mamun is now streaming on Hoichoi.
