Academy Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman is set to return to Singapore for a concert after a decade, announced the organisers on Tuesday.

“Singapore ! It’s been a decade! We look forward to performing again in our favourite city ! Join us on the 31st of August at the National Stadium Tickets on sale ,” Maestro Productions, the organisers of Rahman’s upcoming concert, wrote on Instagram.

Before arriving in Singapore, Rahman will perform at Kuala Lumpur’s Bukit Jalil National Stadium on July 27. Last year, he conducted his first-ever music tour across Europe and performed in France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.

Rahman has his hands full this year having delivered five back-to-back film soundtracks — Lal Salaam, Ayalaan, Aadujeevitham, Maidaan and Amar Singh Chamkila. He will also score the music for Dhanush’s Raayan.

The composer was recently at the 77th Cannes Film Festival to promote his upcoming project Headhunting to Beatboxing, a documentary feature on the Naga tribe helmed by Rohit Gupta.

Rahman also serves as the music composer for Pritan Ambrose’s Can I Go Home Now?, which had its market premiere at the festival.
