Music composer A.R. Rahman has congratulated singer Madhushree on her three back-to-back award wins for the Tamil song Mallipoo with a cheeky message for her to learn the Tamil language.

Rahman, who scored the music for the song that won Madhushree the awards, retweeted the singer’s celebratory Twitter post on Wednesday and shared a quora link on the ‘fastest way to learn Tamil’ along with it, winning over fans with his subtle humour.

Madhushree won trophies at the Anana Davikatan awards on March 30, Behindwoods Gold Icons awards on April 1 and JFW awards on April 2 for the song Mallipoo from Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu

“Hattrick Anana Davikatan awards on March 30, Behindwoods Gold Icons awards on April 1, JFW awards on April 2 for Mallipoo song in Chennai,” she wrote on Twitter, celebrating her feat.

Madhushree and Rahman collaborated for the first time in 2002 for Rani Mukerji-Vivek Oberoi starrer Saathiya. Two years later, she sang for the Hindi version of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva as well as its Tamil version Aayutha Ezhuthu, both composed by Rahman.

The Kolkata-born singer went on to collaborate with Rahman for Kisna, Rang De Basanti, Guru, Sivaji: The Boss and Jodhaa Akbar. Last year, she returned to singing in Tamil cinema after a gap of six years with Rahman’s Mallipoo, which was an instant chartbuster.

Released on September 15, the film Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu grossed over Rs 60 crore at the box office.
