To start streaming on November 15, the upcoming Hoichoi series Talmar Romeo Juliet has dropped the second song from its soundtrack. Titled Laal rong, it is also a romantic number which is effusive in its outpouring of emotion and passion.

Sung in the youthful yet intense voice of Debayan Banerjee, the song is composed by Debraj Bhattacharya with lyrics by Anirban Bhattacharya. Interpreted literally, the song’s lyrics celebrate red as the colour of love. The singer wants to colour his own heart and that of his loved one in red hues as a symbol of their love and as a witness to it.

Picturised mainly on the lead duo Rana (Debdutta Raha) and Jahanara (Hiya Roy), the song is a vivid and melodious representation of their passionate love affair. Overwhelmed with emotion, the young lovebirds can be seen together amidst beautiful rural surroundings, expressing their love through words, gestures and physical demonstrations of their feelings for each other. Unlike Du haatey mutho bhorey which celebrated the warm, first flush of love, Laal rong is a much more sensuous number that reinforces their physical attraction to each other. This song also makes it clear for the first time that theirs is a forbidden love affair, as the lovers are seen meeting each other secretly, at times even guarded by their friends who keep a lookout, especially when they share private, intimate moments.

Laal rong is partly picturised on Holi scenes, where Rana, Jahanara and their friends can be seen smearing one another not only in red but in other festive colours that add vibrance, energy and excitement to the scenes and the overall sensuous experience of the song.
