Kenneth Branagh’s Hercule Poirot investigates a murder committed during a seance, which went horribly wrong under eerie circumstances, in the historic city of Venice in the trailer for the upcoming supernatural murder mystery film A Haunting in Venice.
Dropped by 20th Century Studios on Wednesday, the two-minute-24-second-long trailer begins with Hercule Poirot getting invited to a Halloween party in a decaying palazzo in Venice. A psychic starts performing a séance at the party to match the occasion but things get horribly wrong when a guest is found murdered. Now the sleuth must spot the culprit and figure out the reason behind the crime.
The video then shows a montage of Poirot interviewing all the guests who have their own secrets to hide. Michelle Yeoh’s mysterious psychic, who claims to have been able to talk to the dead, is the centre of attraction. We also see Poirot exploring every corner of the palazzo, which is filled with dark shadows and a sinister atmosphere. There are also hints of the supernatural, as Poirot seems to be haunted by visions of the dead.
