96th Academy Awards: Oscars ceremony to air at 5.30am in India on March 11

The ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC in the US and in over 200 territories worldwide on March 10

The 96th Academy Awards ceremony will be telecast live at 5.30am on March 11 for viewers in India, an hour earlier than usual, according to an announcement made by the Academy on Friday.

Scheduled to take place at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, the 96th Oscars will be broadcast live on ABC in the US, and in over 200 territories worldwide, on March 10.

The annual awards ceremony will be held from 7 pm to 10:30 pm ET / 4 pm to 7:30 pm PT (5.30 am IST on March 11 in India). To set the stage for the main event, a 30-minute pre-show will precede the live ceremony, starting at 6:30 pm ET/3:30 pm PT (5 am IST on March 11 in India).

Popular television personality Jimmy Kimmel is set to return as the host for the Oscars for the fourth time this year. The show will be helmed by showrunner and executive producer Raj Kapoor, alongside executive producers Molly McNearney and Katy Mullan. Hamish Hamilton is set to direct the telecast.

The upcoming 81st Golden Globes, which is set to take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California on January 7, will air live in the US on CBS and stream on Paramount+ at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT (6.30 am IST on January 8 in India).

The nominees for the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards will be unveiled on December 11. The host for the Golden Globes is yet to be announced. The ceremony was hosted by Jerrod Carmichael in 2023.
