Actress Alia Bhatt’s latest white sari look for the opening day of Raj Kapoor’s centenary celebrations is winning over the internet, with fans gushing about how effortlessly she embodies beauty and grace in the outfit.
However, this is not the first time the actress has stunned in a white sari. Remember her iconic Gangubai Kathiawadi look or the white sheer sari she draped while dancing with Ranveer Singh in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani? Alia attended the centenary celebration of Raj Kapoor on December 13 in a sari adorned with floral prints. Draped over a matching blouse, the sari’s pallu features pink and purple borders. The actress’s husband, Ranbir Kapoor, accompanied her to the event, which was also attended by other members of the Kapoor family—Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
Alia wore her hair down and opted for a pearl-studded choker and nude makeup to complement her elegant look. “Mud mud ke na dekh,” wrote Alia alongside the photos on Instagram, referring to the hit track recorded by Asha Bhosle and Manna Dey for Raj Kapoor’s 1955 film Shree 420.
Alia certainly lives by her “chand wala ya badal wala safed” dialogue from Gangubai Kathiawadi. A quick scroll through her social media makes it evident that she knows how to wow in different shades of white. The 31-year-old actress attended the National Film Awards 2023 ceremony in a repurposed Sabyasachi organza sari that she originally wore for her wedding with Ranbir Kapoor in April 2022. Alia matched her ivory sari with a half-sleeve blouse. She accessorised her look with a multi-layered pearl choker and stud earrings. At the ceremony, she was honoured with the best actress award for her portrayal of the titular character in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2022 biographical drama Gangubai Kathiawadi.
The Jigra actress’ satiny white sari with black borders also made for a killer look. Alia tied her hair into a sleek braid to keep her look fuss free. Silver danglers, peach-hued lips and a bindi enhanced her glamour quotient.
