54th International Film Festival of India invites applications for Indian Panorama 2023

Films that have obtained ‘completion of production’ certificate from Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between August 1, 2022 and July 31, 2023 are eligible to feature in the section

The 54th International Film festival of India (IFFI), to be held in Goa, is inviting entries for its flagship event Indian Panorama 2023, the organisers have announced.

“Indian Panorama, the flagship component of the International Film Festival of India, invites submissions for the 2023 edition. Apply Now,” the official Twitter handle of National Film Development Corporation of India tweeted on Thursday.

According to information available on the IFFI website, the applications can be submitted online till August 10. The last date for the receipt of the hard copy of the submitted online application and other requisite documents is August 18.

Only films that have obtained the ‘completion of production’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between August 1, 2022 and July 31, 2023 are eligible for applying.

“IFFI 2023 being a hybrid film festival due to COVID- 19 would screen the films on its official digital platform along with the theatrical screenings during the festival in Goa, subject to the prevailing conditions,” the organisers said in an official statement.

“A maximum of 26 Feature films and 21 Non-feature films (including the Best Feature and Best Non-feature films from 70th National Film Awards, 2022), distinguished by cinematic, thematic and aesthetic excellence selected in accordance with the conditions and procedure laid down below will feature in the Indian Panorama,” the statement further read.

Films made in any Indian language, including silent films, are eligible to apply. The director and producers of the film must be Indian nationals and the film should have been shot in India to qualify for selection in the category. All films must carry English subtitles.

“The Indian Panorama will be selected by two duly constituted juries, one for feature films and the other for non-feature films. Adequate representation will be made from the major regional production centres to serve on the juries. The Juries for selection shall comprise 13 members (including the chairperson) for feature films and 7 members (including the chairperson) for non-feature films,” reads the rules and regulations section of the IFFI website.
