Twenty three leading filmmakers of the country are coming together to take the legacy of Indian cinema forward and shape the future of entertainment. In a unique initiative to promote new talent, some of the big names of the industry are going to launch a mentoring programme for aspiring writers, directors, actors, technicians and more.
The initiative, called Newcomers, aims to mentor and launch new talent and give a chance to aspirants in the entertainment industry. Announced at the FICCI Frames First Track event in Mumbai, this new programme will be presented by Jio Studios, Jyoti Deshpande and Mahaveer Jain.
Among the filmmakers who have associated themselves with this initiative are Anand L. Rai, Imtiaz Ali, Ashutosh Gowariker, Abhishek Sharma, Ali Abbas Zafar, Amit Sharma, Anees Bazmee, A.R. Murugadoss, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Nitesh Tiwari, Gauri Shinde, R. Balki, Jagan Shakti and Kabir Khan.
Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, Raj & DK, Rajkumar Hirani, Ram Madhvani, Rohit Shetty, Siddharth Anand, Sukumar and Vishnuvardhan have also come on board this project.
FICCI Frames Fast Track, a two-day precursor to FICCI Frames, India’s biggest media and entertainment convention, began on Tuesday in Mumbai. Organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), this convention is attended by the who’s who of the media and entertainment industries. Today is the final day of the event.
The two-day convention has a range of panel discussions and sessions lined up, with renowned names of the industry. Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerji will share their experience of making Brahmastra in the valedictory session.
