Popular series The Bear, Succession, and Beef emerged as the big winners among TV shows at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards, hosted by comedian-talk show host Chelsea Handler on Monday (Sunday evening in the US).
HBO-Max drama Succession bagged the title of best drama series, while Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook were honoured with best actor and best actress trophies in a drama series, respectively, for their outstanding performances in the show.
The Bear, an FX comedy series, was named best comedy series, with Jeremy Allen White (best actor), Ayo Edebiri (best actress), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (best supporting actress) taking home acting awards for their remarkable contributions to the show.
The Netflix series Beef emerged as the winner for best limited series, along with three acting awards. Ali Wong (best actress), Steven Yeun (best actor), and Maria Bello (best supporting actress) were recognised for their stellar performances in the series.
The Critics Choice Awards also acknowledged outstanding performances in supporting roles. Billy Crudup from The Morning Show (Apple TV+) and Elizabeth Debicki from The Crown (Netflix) received awards for best supporting actor and best supporting actress in a drama series, respectively. In the comedy genre, Meryl Streep was honoured as best supporting actress for her role in Only Murders in the Building (Hulu).
Quiz Lady (Hulu) bagged the award for the best movie made for television, Lupin (Netflix) won best foreign language Series, and Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (Netflix) bagged the best animated series trophy. John Mulaney's Baby J (Netflix) secured the title of best comedy special, while Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO | Max) was recognised as the best talk show.
