Phir Le Aya Dil from Barfi (2012)

This ghazal from Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz-starrer Barfi was an immediate hit with the masses. Sayeed Quadri’s lyrics coupled with Arjit’s soulful voice made Phir Le Aya Dil the go-to-song for those who were in love and wished to spend more time with their romantic interest. The song, composed by Pritam, is also an acceptance note about fate being the deciding factor in most relationships.

Zaalima from Raees (2017)

With a music video featuring a bearded, pathani suit-clad Shah Rukh Khan romancing Mahira Khan in the vibrant streets of Gujarat, this peppy number struck a chord with the listeners. The Arijit and Harshdeep Kaur’s duet emerged as the most popular song from the film with over 352 million views on YouTube.

Safar from Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017)

Even though Jab Harry Met Sejal, starring Shah Rukh and Anushka Sharma, tanked at the box office, the song Safar made it to the playlist of travel enthusiasts bitten by the wanderbug. The Pritam-composed track with Arijit’s youthful voice narrates the story of Harinder Singh (Shah Rukh) going about his everyday life, travelling from one place to another as a tour guide.

Laal Ishq from Goliyon ki Raasleela: Ram-leela (2013)

The palpable chemistry between Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh coupled with the ever-so-romantic voice of Arijit made Laal Ishq one of the most popular songs from the 2013 Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie. The classic Bhansali cinematography adds to the hymn-like romantic track that shows Deepika and Ranveer romance each other.

Hawayein from Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017)

Shah Rukh’s Harinder falls in love with Sejal (Anushka) as they travel from Prague to Budapest. The song Hawayein, with parts of it shot in a moving train, aptly expresses Harinder’s feelings as he tried to grapple with his emotions. Pritam’s composition coupled with Arijit’s voice makes Hawayein an all-time favourite for many music lovers.

Samjhawan from Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania (2014)

The music video of Samjhawan shows Varun Dhawan’s Humpty and Alia Bhatt’s Kavya falling in love with each other in a retrospective montage. Arijit’s voice gives life to their love story, making the audience root for the couple to unite.

Mast Magan from Two States (2014)

Penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the song has become a popular track on social media.

Tum Hi Ho Song from Aashiqui 2 (2013)

The second instalment of the Aashiqui series was one of the biggest turning points of Arijit’s career. It thrust him to fame, and also made him popular for his romantic and heartbreaking songs. From the film, it’s difficult to choose one favourite, but this one takes the cake because of how personal it feels.

Raabta (Kehte Hain Khuda) from Agent Vinod (2012)

The action spy film from 2012 featuring bouts of comedy was an unlikely place for a song this romantic to be found in. Yet Arijit made it one of the most beautiful songs that anyone in love swears by. Sung in a duet by Arijit and Hamsika, this number is still popular on social media.

The singer has also won our hearts with his Bengali songs Asatoma Sadgamaya, Bojhey Na Shey Bojhey Na and Jago Maa.
