The BJP on Monday tore into out-on-bail Arvind Kejriwal after AAP Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal was allegedly assaulted inside the Delhi chief
minister’s residence at the Civil Lines.

Deputy commissioner of police (North Delhi) Manoj Meena told reporters: “We received a call at the police control room at 9.34am wherein the caller said she was assaulted inside the CM’s residence. The local police responded to the call and arrived at the spot with the station house officer. After some time, MP Swati Maliwal came to the Civil Lines police station. She left the police station without lodging any complaint.”

Soon after the incident, BJP New Delhi candidate Bansuri Swaraj said: “It is shocking.... The allegations are serious.... The allegations are that in the presence of the CM, in fact at his behest, his OSD (officer on special duty) physically assaulted Maliwal, a woman worker of AAP. If the AAP cannot protect its own MP, if Kejriwal cannot ensure the safety of his workers, then how can he speak about women’s safety in Delhi?”

A source said Maliwal went to meet the CM at 8am and after waiting for a long time, she had an argument with his staff.
