Do you earn more or less, compared with 2019?
I have no fixed income and whatever I do earn, it’s low and has not improved in the past five years. My sons and I work our own land and manage the family expenses
Do you save more or less compared with 2019?
We are unable to save anything
What things does your house now have that it did not in 2019?
We have a house to stay in. When my sons got married, we got some furniture and gifts. We have not added anything
What things does your neighbourhood have that it did not in 2019?
Only one cow shed (gosala) has come up in our neighbourhood in the last two years. Stray cattle would damage our crops, so this has come as a relief
Have central/state govt schemes made any difference to your life? How?
Yes, we get free ration. We face losses in farming due to low sale prices, so the free ration helps us
Do your children go to school? If it’s a govt school, then has there been any change in standards/ infrastructure?
They dropped out of school long ago
Do you encounter more corruption or less in your daily life? Can you cite from personal experience areas where you are directly affected by corruption?
Corruption is there. Our village was constructed two years ago and is damaged now. The quality of the road is poor
