The seventh and final phase of Lok Sabha polls in Bengal saw several incidents of violence, particularly in Bhangar under the Jadavpur Lok Sabaha constituency, and the Basirhat Lok Sabha constituency in North 24-Parganas. The EC said there were 2,667 complaints and 30 arrests across nine constituencies that voted on Saturday — Kolkata Uttar, Kolkata Dakshin, Dum Dum, Jadavpur, Barasat, Basirhat, Joynagar, Mathurapur and Diamond Harbour. However, 90 per cent of the complaints were resolved promptly, the EC added. The Telegraph looks at some.

Arson

Where: Dum Dum, Rahara, booth 10

Incident: Goons set fire to the temporary Trinamool Congress party office. Trinamool blamed the BJP.

Officialspeak: The EC sought a police report. The police are investigating.

Clash

Where: Joynagar, Merigunj GP booths 40 and 41

Incident: A clash between Trinamool and BJP supporters resulted in six injuries. Two BJP workers and one Trinamool worker are hospitalised. Both Trinamool and BJP blamed the other.

Vandalism

Where: Jadavpur, Ward 102

Incident: Trinamool has been accused of vandalising six CPM camp offices. Several CPM workers were injured. Trinamool said the clash involved both sides and Trinamool workers were also injured.

Policemen injured

Where: Bhangar booths 70 and 71 under Jadavpur

Incident: A police officer from Kolkata Police in charge of booths 70 and 71 was hurt while on election duty and hospitalised. Allegedly, ISF workers were responsible for the attack.

Injured

Where: Bhangar's Satulia

Incident: In Bhangar's Satulia under the Jadavpur Lok Sabha constituency, Trinamool has been accused of attacking ISF and CPM workers and supporters. Several ISF workers and supporters were injured.

Officialspeak: Cops from Polerhat police station controlled the situation.

Booth attack

Where: Kanthalia Junior Basic High School (polling stations 29, 30, 31) under Deganga segment of Barasat

Incident: Clashes broke out between Trinamool and ISF. Trinamool supporters allegedly attacked some ISF supporters and ransacked one of its booth offices in Kanthalia village.

Officialspeak: A quick response team of central armed police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.

Leader's car attacked

Where: Polling station 73 under Ashok Nagar segment of Barasat Lok Sabha seat

Incident: The car of ISF candidate for Barasat Lok Sabha Tapas Banerjee was allegedly vandalised by Trinamool supporters when he arrived at 73-Bagpul primary school in Digramari to inspect charges that TMC supporters terrorised voters.

Officialspeak: The police escorted Banerjee out. The charge is under scanner.

Agent beaten up

Where: Badamtala High School booths 52 and 53, Diamond Harbour

Incident: Trinamool was accused of beating and pushing a BJP agent out of the booth and seizing the agent's documents.

Officialspeak: The EC sought a report.
