'I appeal to all, especially to the women, to cast their votes today. I am hopeful that people of Delhi will vote on the basis of the work done. I am hopeful that Aam Aadmi Party will come back to power for the third time,' he said.

Earlier in the morning before he left for casting his vote, he urged women to take the 'responsibility of Delhi and the nation' as they do for their homes.

'Please go to vote. Appeal to women - the responsibility of Delhi and the nation is on your shoulders just like the responsibility of your homes. All women, please cast your votes and take all the male members of your house with you. Please discuss with the male members over who is the right person to vote for,' Kejriwal said in a tweet.

Voting for the 70-member Delhi Assembly is underway. The counting will be done on Tuesday.
