Arvind Kejriwal is praying, but BJP thinks he's playing.

After top BJP leaders combined the party's core planks of nationalism and Hindutva to target the AAP over the Delhi chief minister's Hanuman temple visit, Kejriwal on Saturday alleged that the BJP has been mocking him ever since he recited the 'Hanuman Chalisa' on a TV channel.

Taking to Twitter after casting his vote for the Delhi assembly elections, Kejriwal sought to know what kind of politics the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is doing.

BJP's Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari also paid obeisance at famous Delhi temples, including the famous Chhatarpur and Kalkaji temples.

'I prayed for the happiness of the people of Delhi and also sought blessings of the goddesses to enable people to cast their vote judiciously,' Tiwari said.

Tiwari also took a dig at Kejriwal for offering flowers at the Hanuman temple with the same hands he used to open his shoes. 'See the true face of election nominee and Hanuman devotee Kejriwal ... The garlands of flowers were thrown on Baba with the same hands with which he removed his shoes!'

Earlier this week, Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener had said his reciting the 'Hanuman Chalisa' has hurt leaders of the BJP.

During an election rally in Delhi's Kirari constituency on February 4, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said, 'Now Arvind Kejriwal has started reciting the 'Hanuman Chalisa'. In coming days, you will see Owaisi reciting the same. This will certainly happen.'

He was taking a dig at the Delhi chief minister and the AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi.

In the past week, Kejriwal told a news channel that he does not need BJP's endorsement on being a Hindu. He also recited the 'Hanuman Chalisa' on stage. On Friday, Kejriwal along with his wife offered prayers at the famous Hanuman Temple near Connaught Place.

After his visit to the temple, the chief minister said he prayed for the progress of the people of Delhi.

'Sought blessings of Hanuman ji at famous Hanuman temple at CP. Bhagwan ji said-'You are doing good work. Continue serving people like this. Leave the outcome to me, all will be fine,' Kejriwal said in a tweet in Hindi.
