The Swiss Laundry, a laundry and dry cleaning service set up by Fernando Arroyo, whose first franchise in Calcutta dates back to 2013, celebrated a decade of a milestone with Hola! Fashionistas in association with t2, at Royal Calcutta Golf Club recently. A fashion designing competition saw participants showcase their creativity.
The panel of judges included Teena Gaur, Mrs. India 2018; Rupali Mukherjee, owner of Denim Darzi; communication specialist Tanveer Khan, and Santanu Guha Thakurta, owner of Kolkata Nama. The competition centred around the theme of Durga Puja and the team from INSD, Salt Lake, emerged as the winner. Lakme Academy, Camac Street designed hair and makeup for the models. The event also provided a platform for NGO Karma Kutir to showcase their kantha and batik collections.
An exhibition was also held that featured an array of goodies, ranging from beauty products by RAS Bold to jewellery by Amar Shindook and a collection of fashion and home decor items by Ban Than Ke. Yoga by S-VYASA (Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana) and performances by Jay Bhatt and Abhilash Talapatra were also a part of the roster. The show was anchored by Harsh Kaur.
The evening also saw the launch of Asha H by designer Asha Avadhani.
