Gracing the cover page of L’Officel’s Latvian edition in Eastern Europe twice in a month, Ava Aashna Chopra has emerged as one of the top models & the first Southeast Asian model to book such a coveted slot in the world. She has been demonstrating how the world is changing and adjusting to the increased demand for diversity and representation in fashion, and this Singaporean beauty is turning its head all over the world.
The bold & beautiful, Aashna motivates young ladies all over the world to believe that their dreams of breaking into the fashion industry are not unattainable. She is compelling them to break free and come to the fore, even if they are from corners of the world that many people are unfamiliar with. At first glance, it appears to be the ideal platform for a modelling career; however, many who adore her are following in her footsteps and paving the way for their own prosperous careers ahead.
Unlike others, she knew what she wanted to pursue in future when she was just nine years old. She had no idea it would pave the route for her future profession. She did her first shot in Singapore when Disney Channel Asia debuted, and she has since moved on to the high fashion world.
Currently, she is a runway model working various shows in the Middle East and Asia for Dolce and Gabbana, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein, Christian Louboutin and Max Mara amongst several other luxury brands. She is the only Southeast Asian model to be on the cover of L'Officiel in Europe and to appear on the cover of Cosmopolitan Malaysia for their inaugural couples issue with Indonesian superstar Miller Khan.
In future, she intends to utilise her platform to advocate for things she cares about, such as female empowerment and the abolition of illegal wildlife goods. She co-founded the Act For Hope Initiative in 2015, and in support of the Concern India Foundation, she staged a gala dubbed Camera, Catwalk, and Canvas, which brought together some of the biggest stars in the Indian fashion and arts world. The charitable trust provides assistance to young women and girls who have been abused.
Currently, she's also a WildAid advocate, seeking to convince people not to buy illegal or unsustainable wildlife goods. She just launched an anti-shark fin soup campaign after learning how popular it is in her native Asia.
Due to her gain in popularity and worldwide appeal, several news sites have picked up on Aashna's story. Her work is especially important for aspiring models from countries that many people are unfamiliar with. She aims to serve as a reminder to young model hopefuls that if they dare to attempt, their ambitions are within grasp.
