The buzzword of the week: Skinimalism. If clothes, art, lifestyles can become minimalistic, why not skincare? It's practical and intelligent and predicted to be a dominant trend this year.

As you’ve got it already, “skinimalism” is all about displaying your natural skin and putting on the barest possible make-up. Staying at home has made many of us already choosing good skincare over make-up. It is our skin we should look after, not jars and bottles and packs, right? So good eating, exercising (including facial yoga) and DIY skincare are in. Searches for “how to get glowing skin” and “face yoga exercises” are up four times from last year, while “natural everyday makeup" is up 180%, reports Glamour.

Pinterest, where the word was coined, says the time has come for “the end of the caked-on makeup look”. Pinners will “embrace slow beauty and let their natural skin texture shine through”. The new beauty routine is simple and sustainable.
