Revisiting Gabrielle Chanel’s iconic love for camellia, Chanel has now bottled up the timeless inspiration of its red variant in the form of No.1 de Chanel, a new collection of products, which includes skincare, make-up and a fragrance mist. But like everything that the iconic brand does, No.1 de Chanel is also testament of Chanel’s deep labour in research and design.
“Chosen for its microclimate and its fertile and balanced soil, Chanel designated Gaujacq as the place to establish its camellia fields and its research laboratory. In the hands of renowned and committed experts, this camellia collection and its innovative agroecological cultivation methods, are only the beginning of a human and scientific adventure, carried out by Chanel,” says a digital presser on the collection.
Combining technological progress, scientific prowess and the ethos of sustainability, No.1 de Chanel is set to strengthen the century-old legacy of Chanel No.5 with this momentous release.
Here’s a glimpse of the products:
Cutting-edge science ensures that the product addresses the most common concern of the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
Drawing from the properties of a red camellia flower extract, from ‘The Czar’ variety of Camellia japonica; this highly delicate odourless flower is a force of nature, as neither water nor cold have the slightest effect on its petals
At the end of almost ten years of experiments carried out in collaboration with researchers from the Department of Biotechnology and Ageing at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, CHANEL Research revealed a key mechanism involved in cellular vitality, called senescence. This is a particularly promising scientific field that provides previously unseen perspectives in addressing the signs of skin ageing.
