When Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai shared her nikaah cermony pictures on Instagram last month, she could be seen wearing a silk tea pink suit with gold embroidery work. The glowing bride sported a mang tika with minimalist make up while the groom, Asser Malik, sported a matching pink tie with a black suit.

Her post had around six lakh likes and over 4000 comments.

Along with the pictures, Malala wrote, “Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.”

Congratulatory messages poured in for the newly-weds. American actress Mindy Kaling wrote: Wonderful news, my friend. Here’s to a lifetime of joy and happiness. Hollywood actor Reese Witherspoon wished the couple on social media and wrote, “Congratulations on this wonderful moment!”
