Americans are moving away from their culture of waste since the Quarantine started following the outbreak of Covid-19, says a report on www.vox.com. 'This new strain of frugality -- call it the novel frugality -- is defined by its attachment to this moment and its participants' motivations. While it might mirror long-held practices (like not throwing away aluminum foil or consciously saving scraps of leftovers to make new meals), its impetus is slightly different,' says the report. Yahoo India has just announced the most- Y searched topics online since the lockdown. The top recipe search was: Dalgona coffee! The coffee was trending across the world after going viral on social media and India was no exception, says Yahoo India. The recipe for this frothy caffeine cup rose to No. 1 on the list of Top Recipe Searches during the lockdown.

Indians experimenting in the kitchen also searched for cake, paneer and chicken recipes. With staples like bread off the shelf for parts of the lockdown, users also searched for breakfast recipes online.

But what explains the Dalgona craziness? Perhaps its visual appeal: its contrasting layers and its creamy texture. And the fact that during lockdown we have time enough to whip that froth up!.
