Gucci got off the catwalk to launch its new Epilogue collection and displayed portraits of its designers modelling their creations and a 12-hour livestream video from its campaign shoot at a resplendent palazzo in Rome.
With the pandemic protocol of social distancing and travel restrictions changing the fashion world and its events, foreign models as well as guests cannot fly in. This has forced high-end labels to abandon the traditional fashion show format and go virtual.
Creative director Alessandro Michele, who has been at the helm of Gucci since 2015, said the event was the last in a three-part series focusing on the making of clothes and the behind-the-curtains work that goes into a fashion collection.
