The nude make-up look will never go out of style, says Calcutta-based make-up artist Amit Karak. “I personally love this look as an everyday one, especially now as we are having to work from home and present ourselves on screen,” says Karak.

What is nude make-up?

It means minimising your make-up and simplifying your colour palette. Nude make-up uses neutral colours that match a person’s skintone. It covers the blemishes but keeps you looking like you, not someone else.

Nude make-up highlights the lips and eyes.

How do you define the nude palette?

The nude palette consists of the basic colours, such as brown, beige, rose or peach. The shade has to be chosen carefully. Please ensure that the products you use, particularly the foundation, match your natural skin tone. The chosen shade should also complement your hair colour.

How do we choose the products?

Start with the foundation. It must be closest to your skintone. Take the help of a professional, if you are confused, to decide on the shade.

Go for natural lip gloss or lipstick or a light shade, but, again, not so light that it will stand out.

Use a light eyeliner or kajal. But you can work on your eyelashes. Blush should come in a light shade too and not stand out on your skin.

Remember, the foundation of the nude look is the foundation.

⚫ With the look, go for a simple hairstyle. Keep your hair open or put it up in a ponytail. To give your face a lift tie it up on top of the crown. Pull your hair up so that it aligns with your cheekbones. It will also make your face look less round.
