Smart and structured silhouettes, flowy drapes and easy-to-wear, comfortable styles are highlights of the festive collection from designer Jyotee Khaitan’s label this year. Keeping up with trends and amalgamating it with traditional and modern design detailing, the collection consists of gorgeous pieces to take the glam quotient a notch higher this festive season. Catering to a global clientele, the collection includes a wide variety apt for creating a capsule festive-cum-wedding-cum-party wardrobe for the months ahead. Corsets are high on the trend-o-meter this year, adding a smart and structured touch to any silhouette. Jyotee explored it in a lehnga outfit, making it a melange of traditional and contemporary styles. Madhumita exuded a glam look in the sequinned off-shoulder jewelled corset-style lehnga, designed with sequinned and hand-embroidered panels below the waistline.

In the vibrant colour combination of orange and pink, this easy-breezy georgette sari is embroidered with delicate sequins and intricate resham embroidery. Teamed with a bikini blouse, it spells out comfort for pandal-hopping in a sari or an evening adda with friends at the Puja pandals.

With multiple ways to drape a sari and people experimenting with them, if you feel left out for not being a drape expert, opt for this black-and-gold satin crepe, concept pre-stitched sari for a unique look on the festive days. Easy-to-carry with a glam quotient, the sari is paired with a black-and-gold sequinned blouse and designed with sequin detailing around the waistline.

I shot with Jyotee after a long time and it was a beautiful glamourous lookbook. The corset outfit and the LBD were my favourites from this new collection. I am not yet done with my Puja shopping and don’t think I will get time to do any. This year on Puja, I am planning to sleep, take rest and spend time with my family. My Puja wardrobe usually features saris and Indian ethnic wear. For me, it is mandatory to wear ethnic outfits or traditional outfits if I do step out

The festive vacay also calls for some time spent on chilling out with friends and partying all night. Madhumita kept it simple in a black sequinned dress with a plunging neckline and slit in front for a relaxed party look. A perfect addition for a capsule wardrobe, too, for the pre-winter party season following the festive days ahead.

An exquisite addition to the festive wardrobe, this couture net lehnga with antique gold zari and zardozi work with dull gold sequins is glammed up with subtle mirror work. Paired with halter blouse and sheer tulle embroidered dupatta, Madhumita channelled a graceful look.
