Puranavriti or the Rebirth Project by designer Akashlina Banerjee from Boho Trunk Store is an upcycled capsule collection focussed on the sourcing of unwanted or unused fabric to create breathable, comfortable and timeless new outfits. Featuring a bunch of easy-breezy silhouettes in vibrant colours, woven with a touch of nostalgia and elegance, the collection allows patrons to see their loved clothes last longer and transform into wearable statement pieces. Redefining classic fabrics seen mostly as saris into innovative contemporary womenswear, the collection is sustainably produced with handloom and silk pieces. Keeping the pre-autumn and autumn in mind, The Telegraph exclusive lookbook is styled with a bohemian touch for four boho-chic looks on muse Tnusree C.

In the traditional ikat weave, this balloon dress is an alluring evening wear. The purple and fuchsia colour combination adds a glam touch to the look, perfect as a festive, party or occasion wear.

The ravishing red outfit made of Mangalgiri cotton, one of the finest cotton handloom fabrics, spells out festive with the woven golden zari border detailing.

In an edgy sage green colour, Tnusree cut a smart picture in this cotton balloon dress with woven borders and buta work all over. Comfy buttoned straps and beaded jewellery along with the tassel bag add a chic style to the look.

The comfy blue kota cotton dress with white leaf motifs all over is in an asymmetric A-line pattern and exudes a charming vibe. It is accessorised with a neckpiece attached with the dress sideways along the shoulder. Braided hair adds to the comfy vibe.

Our collection Punaravriti, which means rebirth, is based on the idea of sustainability. Often we find saris in our wardrobe of our mothers, grandmothers or even ours that haven’t been worn much but still retains its beauty, however, can’t be worn as a sari any longer. These pieces can be made into something beautiful, something more contemporary. The red outfit was an easy-breezy daytime look styled with minimal jewellery like a stack of bangles and hoops. The make-up was kept nude with the hair worn open in loose curls. Flat shoes for the boho-chic look. The second look is accessorised with a beaded neckpiece and tassel bag for the boho touch. For the third outfit, since the accessory was a part of the outfit, the hair was tied into a loose fish braid for a clean look. The fourth look was kept glam with golden danglers designed with flowers for the boho touch.
