Jewel tones have been in vogue for quite some time now. From being apt as gorgeous occasionwear to creating glam festive looks, jewel tones sure brighten up the style quotient. Bringing together an array of jewel tones with her signature Benarasi weaves, detailed with contemporary and traditional motifs, Pinki Sinha created this special collection to cater to the autumn months filled with celebrations. Muse Sauraseni Maitra shows how to carry the looks in style:

Sauraseni channels a regal vibe in the amethyst sharara set in raw silk, handwoven with floral and leaf zari motifs all over. It is paired with an organza dupatta.

This yellow sapphire raw silk handwoven kurta is made brighter as an occasion or festive wear with the dual-tone zari geometric patterns all over. The kurta is designed with pockets and paired with palazzo pants of the same design. The kadwa-style rani pink dupatta, woven in a laborious process for over two months, adds to the overall look of the outfit.

Gorgeous and easy to carry, this emerald green kurta detailed with floral motifs and meenakari work is for an easy-breezy glam look.

The red jewel-tone sari paired with the blue dupatta brings together the contemporary geometric pattern and evergreen floral motif on traditional weaves, creating an overall contemporarily-styled look. The floral motifs on the dupatta accentuated with meenakari work brightens up the colourful look further.

The intricately woven yellow sapphire sari is perfect for a festive day-to-evening look. Taking around 180 man hours to weave, the all-over Mughal-motif zari work is highlighted with fuchsia pink and red.

Pinki attempted a “period drama look” on Sauraseni by teaming the geometric-pattern amethyst sari with the gold and silver zari work dupatta designed with floral motifs. The sari is detailed with resham work in muted gold. Perfect for an evening festive or occasionwear look.

The festival of light symbolises hope for all of us. It’s the triumph of good over evil. Especially after the last two years of the pandemic, I think we were all awaiting this light. It’s about celebrating the little joys of life and being grateful. I usually spend my Diwali with friends and family. And this year I plan to do exactly the same. I’ll have Diwali as well as Kali puja invitations. I am also looking forward to catching up with everyone and gorging on Diwali sweets. No firecrackers for me, just diyas

“Diwali, for me, is about the lights and the brightness and happiness all around. So, in this festive collection, I have used all happy hues. The jewel-tone collection is dressy and features shades right from sapphire to amethyst. My inspiration behind this collection is the Benaras ghats. Every time I visit the city of Benaras, the vibe of the place and its people inspire me. The ghats have an energetic vibe with women wearing outfits of various colours and it is all nice and bright around the serene ghats. That is what I wanted to recreate in this collection with the different colours,” said Pinki Sinha.
