The look: If diamond is your best friend, go all out because it’s the season! This all-diamond look — statementy diamond neckpiece, cuffs and earrings are styled with a super stylish Nipa Badiani ruffled top and a skirt, and the attire is rounded off with messy hair, wisps on the face, muted metallic brown eyes and broad brows — makes for a very dreamy and ethereal look that you can wear for a night out this wedding season.
Stylist speak: “Ruffles are the biggest trend this season and we had the outfit in a nude shade, which is one of the biggest colours this season. The wedding look is accentuated with a diamond piece which complements the whole look. Overall the whole look is sensual, and make-up wise also we have kept it more in the brown family,” said Anaita.
The jewellery: Marquise, princess, round and pear-shaped diamonds make this handcrafted necklace a stunning choice for brides of 2021. Set on white gold base, this lends a more modern vibe. The earrings, the necklace and the broad marquise bracelet are smart and chic.
The look: An emerald green velvet pantsuit (from House of CB) worn without a shirt, teamed with jadau jewellery that is going to be ideal for a sangeet or a youngsters party because those are the nights when you need to be comfy especially when you are going to dance the night away.
Stylist speak: “Very often I feel the emphasis in on the bride not people attending the wedding. Here in this look I feel the suit is a very big fashion statement, especially the colour. The fabric is soft velvet, ideal for an evening look and the trousers are wide-legged and easy and the suit is soft and slouchy. We styled the look with a stunning jadau piece. Comfort is key for me and I feel you can turn up in a light sari, lehnga or something like this and opt for a statement necklace and maangtika, which make strong statements. If someone wants to wear an inner they can opt for a nice lace one,” said Anaita.
The jewellery: The star of the entire look is this stunning mid-length Rani Haar that has emeralds set in Bezel style. The green meenakari work and the large polkis make it a droolworthy combo. Burmese rubies are used to break the monotony of the piece, while South Sea pearls add to the regal feel. The gorgeous maangtika is made of emeralds, polki and pearls while the jadau cocktail rings add to the fun-meets-royal element.
The look: If you are young and in the mood to experiment, this Indo-western look will make you turn heads and how! Nataliia is wearing a crisp white shirt (from Rheson) with soft sequinned wide pants from Anushka Khanna. The look is completed with layered traditional neckpiece and a stack of gold bangles, soft curls and nude lips, for an ideal Mehndi look during the day.
Stylist speak: “When I saw this necklace, it had a very versatile feel to it. Although it would go well with a sari, we opted out of it and instead teamed with a fitted white shirt with exaggerated sleeves. We teamed it with these sequinned striped flared pants for the festive touch where you could wear this for a Mehndi but if you feel the shirt is too stark, you can pair it with an embroidered duster coat. This particular traditional jewellery looked heavy but was very light and the versatility of the piece is such that I could wear a jeans and a tee and wear the neckpiece and go out for coffee,” said Anaita.
The jewellery: The two layered antique mala are made in the signature Sawansukha style with the unique katai work on the gold balls. The bangles have a mix of precious stones with gold and are made in an openable patla style.
The look: Pastel, light, airy and sleek sum up this bridal look. The model is wearing a Kresha Bajaj lime yellow skirt paired with a graphic-cut blouse which is sexy and young. Her outfit has been teamed with a statement diamond and emerald necklace and green meenakari bangles.
Stylist speak: “I feel the lightness of the lehnga is very important now and when one needs to wear diamond jewellery, the clothes need to be subtle. This particular jewellery lends a feel of Victorian, which I liked, so the clothes here had tiny pearls and the fabric is organza, thus very light. The twist we have done here is the usage of these specific bangles which normally you wouldn’t team with your diamond jewellery but I feel the enamel reflected the colour of the lehnga and complemented the look,” said Anaita.
The jewellery: Finely detailed, different-shaped diamonds are set together along with the gorgeous emerald drops for an awe-inspiring look. The shape of the necklace is slightly aligned to give it a V-shape, which gives a lean and chic look to the neck. The jadau bangles have white and pastel green meenakari work with polkis embellished along with other precious pearls, in the gajra style.
The look: Breaking the stereotype, this look lets you match your outfit colour with the jewellery shade. The drama of this Megha Bansal blouse with the chunky ruby-polki neckpiece is tad OTT but it’s time to be a glow-getter this wedding season.
Stylist speak: “People have a misconception that when you wear a heavy necklace, you need to have a low neckline but I thought it was nice to break that myth with this look. A lot of designers are doing blouses that are not necessarily cholis, there are variants. We also wanted to break the myth of people saying that don’t wear the same colour gemstone that matches your outfit as it gets lost. I feel it complements the outfit and personally I love monotone and that’s what we have done here,” said Anaita.
The jewellery: This massive choker-come-jhalar necklace has 11-plus carat polkis set on a base of real Burmese rubies with a large emerald cabochon that lends a vintage and royal feel. The earrings are done in chandelier style.
