Inspired by her love for “primary colours and florals”, NIFT Calcutta alumni Shristi Chetani’s year-old eponymous label (@shristichetani.kolkata on Intstagram) focuses on making separates, using craft techniques on contemporary silhouettes. “I began my journey as a designer when I completed my graduation from NIFT and started my label after a year. I started my career by graduating with the Best Construction award, which gave me a milestone to begin with. We have also showcased in Asian Designer Week 2019. I believe one can never learn enough hence I keep looking out for opportunities to learn more, which led me to intern at the London Fashion Week in February 2020,” said Shristi.

For her autumn-winter ‘20 Bloomingdale collection, she has designed a curation of everyday styles that are easy to wear by everyone. “The designs have simple silhouettes with jackets and pantsuits along with some festive pieces, which can be worn time and again. We have used some classic silhouettes keeping in mind the current situation, making the pieces ever lasting in terms of style for everyone,” the designer said, whose clothes are priced at Rs 8,000 onwards.
